YanasawaI have tough habit of "Binbo-Yusuri." I didn't even realize it, but my colleagues told me my Binbo-Yusuri cause "earth quake" all the time. Someone recorded it and started trying to utilize it as our "10 years universally project." It was one day at the beginning of this year 2008.
Tosa"Earth quake...?"
"Don't you even realize what you do?"
YanasawaNo, not at all. More I concentrate, less I'm conscious what I do.
They keep telling how it's volcanic and swing side way. That's why it's called "earth quake".
TosaIt's not rolling anymore but quaking!

YanasawaOne day my staff came up with idea called "Happy vibration," converting quaking into engine. We found company that had technology to utilize small shaking power into electricity.
It was an idea to be Ecological branded company by Binbo-Yusuri generated electricity. Originally, it was planned to thank electrical power that we have utilize for 10 years, and holding event that light up our home town by BBU generated electricity.
- To know more detail, see our blog written on Jan, 5th.
TosaCompany you mentioned is "soundpower corporation," an Japanese company, right?
YanasawaYes. We don't have ecological concept on this project anymore though.
As we progress, our focus shifted to Binbo-Yusuri, from ecology because it narrows our idea. So we decided to emphasize positive side of useless power of Binbo-Yusuri.
- To know more, see our blog on Jun, 6th.
And then, we started to discuss who to collaborate with. We realize that our staff is web designers but not product designers, and this may be an opportunity to work with Maywa Denki, whom we look up to.
Tosa:-)
YanasawaWe decide to ask you this since we could believe this can be wonderful project if you accept and we had nothing to lose.
TosaIt was a mail saying, "wondering, if, or maybe, can you do this by any chance?"
YanasawaThat's right. We didn't know if you had any collaborating experience in the past. We were not confident that if you welcome this kind of offer.
TosaMy first impression upon understanding your idea was "What a great foolish idea!" This became my first experience to design product ordered by somebody else. It was interesting enough to make me decide so.
YanasawaWe were so lucky that you accept our idea. It's just great.
TosaThere should be a few people who have idea to produce equipment utilizing Binbo-Yusuri. But no other company would decide to produce and sell these product 3000 pieces. You are great. 5 years ahead of other companies.

YanasawaWe felt that this project would be so fun as we saw you came up with many idea at the first brain-storm meeting. One thing we were surprised was you knew much on Web.
TosaSecond generations of our toys are not stand alone but USB equipped. I have plan to go further, not only getting electrical power supply, but keyboard controlled Knockman. I want to try that.
YanasawaIt was good timing. We are able to make with almost anything on web, but we wanted to try for product which across the border of web. At the beginning of this year, we developed "Chuyang," a robot mice controlled through web. Recently we have developed "plant generating blog," and "interactive meeting room."
TosaI was so sure that it will be interesting to combine digital and analog product, since it is my style of live performance for a long time.
YanasawaI'm so happy and thankful that I could a chance to collaborate with you. My only hope left is just to end up this project with clear output.
YanasawaDo you actually have habit of Binbo-Yusuri?
TosaAt morning, in many case.
YanasawaAt Morning!
TosaI guess I do think in between asleep and awake.
YanasawaAs I research Binbo-Yusuri, there is no reason to see it negative. I wonder why we think Binbo-Yusuri is bad manners.
TosaPeople in all over the world except Japan don't see itBinbo-Yusuri so negative. From my point of view, reason Japanese see it negative is caused by kneeling culture.
YanasawaAha.
TosaYou can't do Binbo-Yusuri while you kneel. But when western culture, sitting on chair, reached to Japan, people see it odd.
YanasawaAnd then, people started to think it negative, you mean.
TosaIt's just a story I made up.
YanasawaBinbo-Yusuri exist all over the world but they don't have specific name in many cases. What's Binbo, being poor. Is that so bad? Is there any person who became poor caused by doing Binbo-Yusuri? And another question is, why woman don't do Binbo-Yusuri.
TosaWell, I think it's because man hold sperm. Egg is still, but sperm wag its tail hard. From beginning the life, woman has big wave of life such as pregnancy and child bearing, not small shake like Binbo-Yusuri.
YanasawaWell, I'm not even sure that if woman don't Binbo-Yusuri. But anyway, people think Binbo-Yusuri useless. Then another question come up to my mind is, how much power do I spend for nothing. I just want to count it.
TosaLife time Binbo-Yusuri counter! We had that idea once.
Back in July, Tosa picked up one of many sketch and told team "I made estimation how many time people do Binbo-Yusuri in their life time. My assumptions are, 400 Yusuri within a minute, 8 hours of shaking within a day, and live 70 years. As a result, it's about 4.8 billion. That means we need 10 digits to count it up."
- To know more, see our blog on Jul. 14th.

YanasawaThat story changed into un-resettable sum total function. But concept of product have been kept developing and now it became to device to visualize and monitor their own Beat.
TosaIt's matter of vibration. Eye-ball vibrates to see outside, and eardrum also vibrate to hear outside. From that kind point of view, this product is given new concept, to detect unique vibration. It became totally different product from our original idea. The first idea we had was a toy that sound elephant cry generated by Binbo-Yusuri power.
YanasawaYes. It was just a cute toy worn on the knee at the beginning of this project. But as we progress, our concept shifted to stoic and hard one.
TosaAt the beginning, what's in our mind was just a cute toy. Why did you throw away this concept once?
YanasawaI thought it's too hard and cute one would work better to make big hit.
TosaBut as we progress, I started think we should not cut off function to feature web, to leverage your strength on web. I thought we should go for digital, net oriented concept, not analog, spiral spring kind concept.

YanasawaAha. We had that kind discussion at July, when we came up with product name "YUREX™." It has long history to end up this way.
With luck and timing, Kenji Saito from Honshitsu Inc. joined project at August. With tight budget, we trespassed on his kindness. We were just lucky.
- To know more, To know more, see our blog on Aug. 16th.
TosaFrom that point, we started thinking about branding and coolness.
YanasawaIt was time to clear up our concept. It wan first showdown since it was also time to decide product design.
At the beginning of August, we decided final design of product, such as color and display.
With hand craft items such as cutter, cutter matt, ruler, and triangle ruler, we started final design meeting. By making a motion with our hands, it took 5 hours and members missed last train on Sunday night.
- To know more, see our blog on Aug. 9th.

TosaAttach YUREX™ at your thigh and two mirror balls on both right and left side catch vertical and horizontal vibration. Upon connection on your PC, it will extract your original pattern of Binbo-Yusuri and you will be able to exert your "Creative Beat Pattern" anytime you want by following beat data recorded. This is our unconscious YUREX™ theory.
YanasawaTo hear that, I realize our theory is sublimed much.
At the end of August, it was time to confirm concept of YUREX™. To determine expression of whole product and site, our question was "Do we do Binbo-Yusuri consciously on un consciously?"
- To know more, see our blog on Aug 22nd .
YanasawaAt this point, we re-thought what is Binbo-Yusuri.
TosaThen we resulted in "YUREX™ is to change unconscious vibration into conscious sensation."
My Binbo-Yusuri is unconscious. It's like seesaw in my mind; one side goes down and then the other side goes down next. It's kind of stable state, by keep rocking. It's my unique inner beat. Only my soul put out from my body and get so many inspirations.

YanasawaKAYAC has release some service to support generating idea and brainstorming, and we will keep doing it. As we go through this project, naturally we ended up with product generate idea; visualize, monitor, and control your own "creative beat." There is no more idea concerning about ecology. But it's obvious that YUREX™ is something we've never seen before.
At the end of October, whole idea is determined. BBU Project was to expose invisible creative power of BBU through "Theory of BBU" advocated by Maywa Denki. YUREX™, a product to generate your creativity, is completed by BBU Project.

TosaI've seen an art work titled "laughing critics" created by Richard Hamilton, an artist, in 1970's. It's just artificial tooth attached to toothbrush and make some noise. I saw it in film when I was in college and though it so fool. He even made commercial films. I see YUREX™ same kind of uselessness; There is no needs and wants.

YanasawaIt's clear that totally new market. Nobody knows what's up next.
TosaSomething nobody knows is best way to promote.
YanasawaI see. Anyway, it's so fun to work on this project. We still have more some way to go, such as designing package and developing application, and I can't wait for it.
TosaYes. This is great product goes five year ahead.
